Hello everyone, bonjour à tous. 🧡 Welcome back to the French Made Easy podcast, this is episode number 123, numéro 123!

Today, we're learning some new vocabulary, all about the different types of accommodations in French, so for example a hotel, an apartment, a house, etc. Can be quite useful if you’re travelling!

Let's get started. :

  • L'hôtel (hotel)

Nous avons pris le petit déjeuner à l'hôtel ce matin. (We had breakfast at the hotel this morning.)

  • La maison (house)

Mes grands-parents ont une maison à la campagne. (My grandparents have a house in the countryside.)

  • L'appartement (apartment)

Elle vit dans un appartement spacieux. (She lives in a spacious apartment.)

  • Le gîte (cottage)

Ils passeront le week-end dans un gîte à la montagne.(They will spend the weekend in a cottage in the mountains.)

  • L'auberge (hostel) / auberge de jeunesse (youth hostel)

Ils préfèrent rester à l'auberge pour économiser de l’argent. (They prefer to stay at the hostel to save money.)

  • La chambre d'hôte (bed and breakfast)

Notre chambre d'hôte est située près d'un vignoble.(Our bed and breakfast is located near a vineyard.)

  • Le camping (camping site)

Nous allons chaque été au camping près du lac. (We go to the camping site near the lake every summer.)
